Activities for children and young people
We work with children and young people in open and closed settings. As a closed setting, we work with and on behalf of partners with an already established group of young people, i.e. MOD Youth Clubs, Mums and Tots, No Wrong Door. For open settings, our projects such as Vacation Creation and Creative and Active Communities are in community settings and cover a wide range of age groups. In both open and closed settings, we work with a large pool of providers under the ignite banner, which enables us to offer a wide variety of creative activities tailored to the needs of whoever we’re working with.
How we work with schools
Currently, our largest contact with schools is through Hereford School Games, for which we coordinate the Cultural Village. As an organisation who specialises in both creative activities and healthy leisure, we incorporate energetic creative activities as well as alternative physical activities within the Cultural Village, previously including dance, music, drumming and circus skills.
Ways we can support schools:
• As an organisation working with a large array of multi-disciplined creative practitioners, we are a great testing centre for schools to experiment with new activities and new providers, as one-offs or a programme of tasters.
• We can work on theme-based or conceptual projects that complement schools’ curriculum. This includes projects instigated by the local wider community, but that want to incorporate schools. As an organisation experienced with working in the community, we are well placed to facilitate these relationships and develop exciting projects.
