Over 800 High School students attend Hay Festival

Seven Herefordshire High Schools attended Hay Festival this year, supported by the National Collaborative Outreach Programme,  enabling over 800 high school pupils to experience this international literary festival. Across two special days designed by the Hay Festival for schools,  Herefordshire pupils where able to here from acclaimed scientists, historians, poets and novelists.

The National Collaborative Outreach Programme is a government initiative that works in partnership with schools and colleges to help identify students who may benefit from support designed to improve academic attainment, aspiration and access to higher education.  The project awarded funding to cover staffing and transport costs.
